Carpet
cleaning methods used by carpet cleaners
There are several different carpet cleaning methods.
Sometimes it seems there are as many
methods of cleaning carpets and opinions on when to use which, as there
are people who clean carpets. Some of them are new and groundbreaking,
others are kept tried and trusted and have been around for years. Hot
Water Extraction is the standard in carpet cleaning today, as all other
methods are measured against it. Dry Foam isn’t as deep, but it dries
faster. Bonnet is easier, but not near as thorough. Dry Chemical doesn’t
take as long… and so on.
Though they are trying to clean your carpet, they often have slightly
different goals, and every method is different and employs different
equipment and different chemicals. For instance, bonnet cleaning or Dry
Foam are good supplemental cleanings while Hot Water Extraction is
better for the annual thorough, deep cleanings.
Another advantage to these is that they can be a do-it-yourself job, if
you don’t want to pay someone else to do it. If this is your view, you’d
be happy to know that you can often rent Steam Cleaners from super
markets or rental places, and while they’re not as powerful as the
professional equipment, they can get the job done at a lower cost. You
should be aware, though, that professionals know the work and can do it
faster and more efficiently and to greater affect. They are more
knowledgeable, experienced, use better equipment, and understand more
about how and why it all works, as well as what works with what.
